A brand new $12.6 million, 30,000 sq.ft. building to replace the existing Vernon library, which will be located on 30th Avenue across from the Nixon Wenger Tower in Vernon.
The project is currently 38% complete and all tasks are tracking on time.
Work is almost complete on the second floor. Only a few minor change requests from the owner remain.
To-date, the building has passed all inspections with the final inspection anticipated in early July.
Both principles of TASK Construction have a passion for sports. Both have grown up playing competitive sports, coaching competitive sports and now both are supporting competitive sports through the facilities TASK Construction builds and organizations like Phil's Power Play.
Phil Blake of Phil's Power Play has developed the skills of many players from minor levels through to the NHL. TASK Construction is proud to help Phil continue to demonstrate his love of the game.
One of TASK's newer projects is the New West Youth Centre.
The project consisted of the construction of approximately 4,000 sq. ft. of program space that includes multi-purpose rooms, a youth lounge, study rooms, meeting spaces and food services. But what makes this project special is its innovative design, allowing youth and seniors to share the same space.
Over-cladding or re-skinning is the installation of cladding materials over the facade of an older building, which can increase the building's life expectancy as well as improve operational efficiencies.
In the case of the BC Dairy Board and BC Egg Board jointly owned Central Agricultural Facility (CAF), TASK is over-cladding two facilities to correct some original construction deficiencies while providing additional building enhancements (including heating efficiencies as well as providing a consistent look and feel between two previously dissimilar buildings).
