"...[TASK] were fully committed to our project and understood our priorities. The end result was a quality product, which came in under budget, and TASK deserves the bulk of the credit for this major accomplishment."

LEED

We have been employing green practices for our customers for years. Prior to LEED standards, we practiced The Natural Step (a pre-cursor to LEED). Then as LEED practices became more and more popular we supported the initiative through training and certification.

As a result of our commitment to environmentally friendly choices, we secured the position of incorporating LEED standards in several projects including the Whistler Conference Centre project, which was positioned to attain LEED - Gold, Nanaimo's Oliver Woods Community Centre - LEED- Silver, and Coquitlam's Chimo Pool - LEED - Silver.

Green without LEED

We also have numerous projects where customers have a strong desire to go green, but do not have the budgets to allow for the additional registration fees, design and administration costs associated with LEED designation. In these cases, we endeavor to build in as many sustainable and energy efficient measures that can be practically rationalized (reasonably demonstrate payback) and supported by the budget.

In this vein, we have incorporated a wide range of environmental solutions for our customers including geothermal loop systems to support pool, hockey and curling rinks and most recently a new energy-saving system called Thermenex (see the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex project for more info) which is designed to reduce utility costs by 55%.

If you'd like more information on our green practices, please contact us.
