5-FAM-beta-Amyloid (1-40)-Lys(biotin LC) amide (5-FAM-Amyloid β-Protein (1-40)-Lys(εAhx-biotinyl) amide) integrates the fluorescent dye (5-FAM) and the biotin moiety through the beta-amyloid peptide. It is used to study the aggregation process of beta-amyloid peptides, which is central to Alzheimer’s pathology. The fluorescence from 5-FAM allows real-time monitoring of aggregation. In addition, 5-FAM’s fluorescence properties make it suitable for imaging beta-amyloid in cells and tissues, helping to visualize amyloid plaques.
