Description

100nm DOPC/CHOL Liposomes labeled with DiI refers to liposomes composed of 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DOPC) and cholesterol (CHOL), with the addition of a lipophilic fluorescent dye called DiI (1,1′-Dioctadecyl-3,3,3′,3′-Tetramethylindocarbocyanine Perchlorate). DiI is a lipophilic carbocyanine dye with applications in cell labeling and fluorescence microscopy. It is commonly used for membrane labeling and tracking. DiI can be used in FRET studies, providing a tool for investigating molecular interactions and conformational changes in membranes. Liposomes labeled with DiI can be explored for theranostic applications, combining diagnostic imaging with therapeutic drug delivery.
