Wheat Germ Agglutinin, Cy5 Labeled (WGA-Cy5) refers to Wheat Germ Agglutinin that has been labeled with Cy5, a fluorescent dye. WGA is a lectin, a type of protein, derived from wheat germ. Lectins have an affinity for specific carbohydrate molecules. WGA specifically binds to N-acetylglucosamine and sialic acid residues, making it a useful tool for labeling glycoproteins and glycolipids.
