Description

Cy5 DBCO is a linker of the cyanine5 dye. Cy5 serves as a fluorescent dye for fluorescence-based imaging experiments. Its emission properties in the near-infrared spectrum allow for deep tissue penetration and reduced background autofluorescence, making it suitable for in vivo imaging applications. DBCO is a reactive group known for its high reactivity in copper-free click chemistry, particularly in copper-free azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reactions. DBCO can react with azide-functionalized molecules to form a covalent bond without the need for copper ions. The compound can be used for specific labeling of biomolecules, such as proteins, peptides, or nucleic acids, facilitating their visualization and tracking in biological samples.
