Description

PEGylated DOPC/CHOL Liposomes labeled with DiI refer to liposomes composed of a lipid mixture containing 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DOPC), cholesterol (CHOL), and a PEGylated lipid, where a fraction of the lipids includes a lipophilic fluorescent dye called DiI (DiI = 1,1′-dioctadecyl-3,3,3′,3′-tetramethylindocarbocyanine perchlorate). PEGylated DOPC/CHOL liposomes labeled with DiI can serve as carriers for delivering therapeutic agents, such as drugs or nucleic acids, to target tissues or cells. The fluorescent signal from DiI allows for monitoring of liposome biodistribution, cellular uptake, and cargo release kinetics in vivo.
