ACA-PEG-NH-MAL (Acrylamide-PEG-NH-Maleimide) is a compound with three main components: an acrylamide group, a polyethylene glycol (PEG) linker, and a maleimide group. The acrylamide group contains an amino group (–NH₂) and is commonly used in bioconjugation reactions, particularly with compounds containing reactive groups such as maleimides or acrylates. Maleimide is a reactive group that can selectively react with thiol groups via a thio-Michael addition reaction. This reaction is widely used in bioconjugation to link maleimide-functionalized molecules to thiol-containing biomolecules.
