DBCO is a strained cyclooctyne ring system, known for its high reactivity in bioorthogonal chemistry. It readily undergoes a rapid and selective reaction with azide-containing molecules via copper-free click chemistry. DBCO-azide reactions are widely used in bioconjugation and labeling applications due to their specificity and biocompatibility.
