Description

endo-BCN-NHS carbonate is a compound used in bioconjugation chemistry, particularly in click chemistry reactions for the selective labeling and modification of biomolecules. NHS carbonate refers to the N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester of carbonate, which is commonly used for amine-specific labeling. The endo-BCN moiety is a strained alkyne that can rapidly react with azide-containing molecules in a copper-free azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction (known as SPAAC or strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition). endo-BCN-NHS carbonate can be immobilized onto solid surfaces or nanoparticles with appropriate reactive groups, such as amino or hydroxyl groups. The BCN group can then be used for further functionalization of the surface, such as attaching targeting ligands or biomolecules for specific interactions with cells or tissues.
