Description

DBCO-C6-NHS ester is a chemical compound used in bioconjugation reactions, particularly in the context of “click chemistry.” It consists of three functional groups: Dibenzocyclooctyne (DBCO), a six-carbon linker (C6), and N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester. C6 refers to a six-carbon linker, which provides flexibility and space between the DBCO group and the NHS ester. DBCO-C6-NHS ester is used to functionalize molecules containing primary amines (-NH2) through amide bond formation. The NHS ester reacts specifically with primary amines to form stable amide bonds, resulting in the covalent attachment of the DBCO moiety to the target molecule via the six-carbon linker.
