Description

TCO-PEG12-DBCO refers to a compound with trans-cyclooctene, a PEG12 spacer, and dibenzylcyclooctyne functional groups linked together. TCO is a strained alkene molecule that can react with tetrazines via a rapid and bioorthogonal reaction known as tetrazine-trans-cyclooctene cycloaddition (TTCO). PEG spacers are commonly used in bioconjugation to increase solubility, flexibility, and biocompatibility of molecules. In this context, PEG12 likely serves as a flexible linker. DBCO is another strained alkyne similar to TCO, often used in bioconjugation chemistry.
