mPEG-Amine (mPEG-NH2, Amino-PEG, Methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)-Amine, Methoxy PEG Amine, Amino functionalized methoxyl polyethylene glycol) is a mono reactive PEG derivative that can be used to modify proteins, peptides and other materials via carboxylic group (-COOH) or other amine reactive chemical groups. PEGylated amine groups react readily with succinimidyl ester (NHS), activated carboxylic group (-COOH), aldehyde group and many other functional groups. PEG linker offers better water solubility, flexible linkage structure and enhanced stability. PEGylation can increase solubility and stability and reduce immunogenicity of peptides and proteins. It can also suppress the non-specific binding of charged molecules to the modified surfaces.
