mPEG-Amine (mPEG-NH2, Amino-PEG, Methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)-Amine, Methoxy PEG Amine, Amino functionalized methoxyl polyethylene glycol) is a linear methoxy PEG reagent with reactive primary amine or NH2 groups that react rapidly with activated carboxylic acids such as NHS esters to form stable amide bonds. mPEG-Amine can be used to form dendritic micelles to enhance the solubility of hydrophobic compounds, conjugate with an anticancer drug methotrexate (MTX) to form MTX-PEG with potential application as drug carriers, as well as couple with polyethylenimine (PEI) to form graft copolymers which can be used as nonviral gene vectors.
