Description

N-(Propargyl-PEG2)-DBCO-PEG3-NHS ester is a complex molecule combining a propargyl-functionalized PEG chain, a DBCO group, another PEG chain, and an NHS ester moiety. DBCO, or dibenzocyclooctyne, is a cycloalkyne functional group. DBCO is highly reactive towards azides through copper-free click chemistry reactions, forming stable triazole linkages. DBCO is often used for bioconjugation and labeling applications due to its fast reaction kinetics and biocompatibility. NHS esters, or N-hydroxysuccinimide esters, are commonly used as reactive intermediates for the modification of biomolecules. NHS esters react with primary amines, forming stable amide bonds. They are often used for bioconjugation reactions, such as the labeling of proteins or the functionalization of surfaces.
