Description

Biotin-PEG-Amine (Biotin-PEG-NH2, Bio-PEG-NH2) is a PEG-based PROTAC linker that can be used in the synthesis of PROTACs. It consists of three main components: biotin, a polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer, and an amine group (NH2). Biotin, also known as vitamin H or vitamin B7, is a water-soluble B-vitamin essential for various metabolic processes in living organisms. Biotin is widely used in molecular biology and biochemistry due to its strong and specific binding affinity to avidin and streptavidin proteins. PEG spacers are commonly used to enhance the solubility, stability, and biocompatibility of molecules and to reduce non-specific interactions with biomolecules. The amine functional group (-NH2) consists of a nitrogen atom bonded to two hydrogen atoms. Amines are chemically reactive and can participate in various bioconjugation reactions, such as amidation or Schiff base formation.
