Description

Soblidotin (Auristatin PE) is a synthetic derivative of dolastatin 10, a natural product originally isolated from the marine mollusk Dolabella auricularia. Soblidotin belongs to the class of compounds known as dolastatins, which exhibit potent cytotoxic activity by disrupting microtubule dynamics within cells. Soblidotin is commonly used as a payload in antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for targeted cancer therapy. In ADCs, soblidotin is conjugated to monoclonal antibodies that specifically target cancer cells expressing certain cell surface antigens. Upon binding to the target cancer cells, the ADC is internalized, and soblidotin is released, exerting its cytotoxic effects selectively within the tumor cells while sparing normal tissues.
