Description

Poly(tert-butyl methacrylate), atactic is a polymer composed of repeating units of tert-butyl methacrylate monomers. The chemical structure of tert-butyl methacrylate consists of a tert-butyl group (a branched alkyl group) attached to the alpha carbon of the methacrylate moiety. The atactic nature of the polymer indicates that the substituents on the polymer backbone are randomly oriented. The polymer finds applications in pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) due to its tackiness and adhesive properties.
