This allows for the attachment of biomolecules, creating functionalized surfaces for various applications, including biosensors and diagnostics. Additionally, the alkyne group participates in copper-catalyzed click chemistry reactions with azide-containing compounds. Alternatively, copper-free click chemistry reactions can be employed, expanding the scope of bioorthogonal labeling strategies.
