cRGD-PEG-NH2 (cRGD-PEG-Amine, c(RGDyk)-PEG-NH2) can be used as a targeting ligand in imaging agents, enabling the visualization of integrin-overexpressing tissues or tumors. The selective binding of cRGD to integrins on cancer cells makes it a promising component for cancer therapeutics. PEGylation can enhance the circulation time of the molecule and improve its delivery to target cells. In addition, cRGD is known for its ability to specifically bind to integrin receptors, which are overexpressed in certain types of cancer cells. Combining cRGD with PEG and an amine group may lead to the development of targeted drug delivery systems.
