Description

N-(Propargyl-PEG4)-biocytin can be used to label biomolecules, such as proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, or carbohydrates, through selective coupling reactions. The propargyl group provides a site for specific conjugation via CuAAC reactions with azide-functionalized molecules. This allows for site-specific labeling of biomolecules for various applications, including detection, purification, or immobilization. Biocytin is a modified form of biotin, a small molecule also known as vitamin B7 or vitamin H. Biocytin contains a biotin molecule attached to a lysine residue through an amide bond. Biotin is widely used as a tag in molecular biology and biochemistry due to its strong and specific binding to avidin and streptavidin proteins.
