Description

Aminooxy-PEG2-alcohol is a short PEG linker containing an aminooxy group and a a hydroxyl group. Aminooxy, or oxime-forming, functional group consists of an amino group (-NH2) and an oxime oxygen atom (C=N-OH). This group is reactive towards carbonyl compounds, such as aldehydes and ketones, forming stable oxime linkages through oximation reactions. Aminooxy groups are widely used in bioconjugation chemistry for labeling, immobilization, or modification of biomolecules. The alcohol functional group (-OH) in aminooxy-PEG2-alcohol serves as a linker or attachment point for further modification or conjugation reactions. It can be activated or converted into other functional groups, such as esters or halides, to enable specific chemical reactions with target molecules.
