Description

t-Boc-Aminooxy-PEG7-Mal is a molecule containing a t-Boc-protected amine group, an aminooxy group for oxime formation, a PEG linker for solubility and flexibility, and a maleimide group for conjugation to thiol-containing biomolecules. Maleimides react specifically and rapidly with thiol groups (e.g., cysteine residues in proteins) to form stable thioether linkages. Aminooxy groups can react specifically with aldehydes or ketones to form oxime linkages, which are stable under physiological conditions. This compound can be used for site-specific labeling of proteins or other biomolecules through oxime or thioether formation, enabling various applications in chemical biology, drug delivery, and diagnostics.
