N-(Propargyl-PEG2)-N-bis(PEG1-alcohol) is a useful molecule in bioconjugation and biomaterials. The propargyl group on one end of the PEG chain allows for selective bioconjugation reactions, particularly click chemistry reactions like copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) or copper-free strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC). This enables the attachment of biomolecules, such as proteins, peptides, or nucleic acids, to surfaces or other molecules for applications in diagnostics, drug delivery, or biomaterials fabrication.
