Methyltetrazine-PEG5-triethoxysilane is a click chemistry linker containing a triethoxysilane moiety and a methyltetrazine group. Methyltetrazine is a reactive group commonly used in bioorthogonal chemistry, specifically in inverse-electron-demand Diels-Alder (IEDDA) reactions. It reacts selectively and rapidly with strained alkenes or alkynes, forming stable triazoline adducts under mild conditions. Triethoxysilane is a silane compound containing three ethoxy groups (―OCH2CH3). Silane compounds are commonly used for surface functionalization, particularly for the modification of silica-based surfaces. Triethoxysilane can undergo hydrolysis in the presence of water to form silanol groups (―SiOH), which can subsequently react with silica surfaces through condensation reactions, forming covalent bonds.
