Description

Di(N-succinimidyl)adipate, often abbreviated as DSA, is a type of chemical compound which is commonly used to crosslink proteins by reacting with primary amines (-NH2) present in their side chains. This crosslinking can be utilized to stabilize protein complexes, immobilize proteins onto surfaces, or create protein-based biomaterials. DSA can also be used to label antibodies with various reporter molecules, such as fluorophores or enzymes. The succinimidyl group in DSA reacts with primary amines on the antibody surface, enabling the attachment of the labeling molecule for applications in immunofluorescence assays, Western blotting, and other immunoassays.
