1,4,7-Trimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane (stabilized with NaHCO3) or Octahydro-1,4,7-trimethyl-1H-1,4,7-triazonine (stabilized with NaHCO3) consists of a nine-membered ring containing three nitrogen atoms and three methyl groups attached to the nitrogen atoms at the 1st, 4th, and 7th positions. TMN and its metal ion complexes are used as catalysts in various chemical reactions. The coordinated metal ions within the TMN cavity can activate substrates and facilitate catalytic transformations, including organic synthesis, oxidation reactions, and polymerizations.
