m-PEG2-DBCO is designed for applications where a hydrophilic spacer and a reactive group for bioconjugation are needed. PEG serves as a hydrophilic spacer in bioconjugation reactions. PEGylation enhances solubility, stability, and biocompatibility of molecules, reducing nonspecific interactions and immunogenicity. DBCO is a reactive group commonly used in bioorthogonal chemistry, particularly in click chemistry reactions. It specifically reacts with azide groups through a strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC), enabling bioconjugation under mild conditions.
