Description

2,5-Dichloroterephthalic acid or BDC-Cl2 consists of a benzene ring with carboxylic acid (-COOH) groups attached at positions 1 and 4, and two chlorine atoms (-Cl) substituted at positions 2 and 5. 2,5-dichloroterephthalic acid can serve as a crosslinking agent in the production of thermosetting resins. It reacts with other functional groups such as hydroxyl (-OH) or amino (-NH2) groups to form crosslinked networks, enhancing the mechanical strength and heat resistance of the resulting materials.
