1,4-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, 2,5-bis[2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethoxy]- or 2,​5-​Bis(1,​4,​7-​trioxaoctyl)​terephthalic acid or 2,​5-​Bis[2-​(2-​methoxyethoxy)​ethoxy]​-​1,​4-​benzenedicarboxylic acid or DE-acid consists of a benzene ring with two carboxylic acid groups at the 1 and 4 positions. Two ethylene glycol chains are attached to the benzene ring at the 2 and 5 positions, and each ethylene glycol chain is further substituted with three methoxyethoxy groups. It can be used as a plasticizer in polymer formulations to improve flexibility, elongation, and impact resistance.
