2-Methylterephthalic acid or BDC-Me is a derivative of terephthalic acid, in which a methyl group (-CH3) is substituted at the 2-position of the benzene ring. 2-Methylterephthalic acid-based copolymers can be used in the production of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) with a balance of flexibility and rigidity. These TPEs are utilized in applications such as automotive parts, medical devices, and consumer goods.
