PC (Propargyl carbonate) Alkyne is a reactive group containing an alkyne moiety (C≡C), which is commonly used in bioconjugation chemistry. Alkynes participate in copper-catalyzed or copper-free click chemistry reactions, specifically azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) or strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC). The carbonate ester serves as the leaving group in the NHS carbonate ester compound. It is reactive towards primary amines and undergoes nucleophilic substitution reactions with primary amines to form stable amide bonds.
