Description

Biotin-PEG2-CH2CH2N3 refers to a compound where biotin is linked to a polyethylene glycol (PEG) chain of two ethylene glycol units, terminated with an azide functional group (N3) at the end of an additional methylene (CH2) chain. Azides (N3) are widely used in click chemistry reactions, particularly the copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction. Biotin-PEG2-CH2CH2N3 can react with alkyne-functionalized molecules or surfaces via CuAAC to form stable triazole linkages. This property is valuable for bioconjugation and surface modification.
