Description

TCO-PEG-Biotin refers to a compound where biotin is conjugated to a polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer terminated with a trans-cyclooctene (TCO) functional group. TCO is a strained alkene that undergoes rapid and selective reaction with tetrazine derivatives via inverse electron demand Diels-Alder (IEDDA) cycloaddition. This bioorthogonal reaction is highly efficient under physiological conditions. Fluorescently labeled TCO-PEG-Biotin can be used for live cell imaging studies. This allows researchers to visualize and track biotinylated molecules or targeted delivery systems in biological systems with high specificity and minimal background interference.
