Description

Ro/SS-A (60 kDa; non rec.; bov.) biotinylated involves chemically attaching biotin molecules to the Ro/SS-A protein obtained from bovine sources. Biotin is a vitamin B complex that binds strongly to avidin or streptavidin proteins, facilitating detection and purification in various biochemical assays. Biotinylated Ro/SS-A is used in diagnostic assays to detect autoantibodies against Ro/SS-A in patient samples. This is crucial for diagnosing autoimmune diseases such as Sjögren’s syndrome and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
