Description

R-Phycoerythrin, Biotin-XX Conjugate is a specialized form of the R-PE protein conjugated with biotin-XX (biotin with a longer linker arm) molecule. R-PE is a protein pigment derived from red algae (Rhodophyta). It is a fluorescent protein complex consisting of α (alpha) and β (beta) subunits, which bind to phycobiliproteins and possess strong light absorption and emission properties in the red-orange spectral range. Biotin-XX is biotin (vitamin B7) modified with a longer spacer arm (XX) compared to traditional biotin, providing flexibility and reducing steric hindrance in binding interactions. In multiplex assays, R-Phycoerythrin, Biotin-XX Conjugate can be combined with other fluorophores or labels to detect multiple targets simultaneously. This enhances the throughput and efficiency of assays, particularly in diagnostic testing and biomarker profiling.
