Description

PLGA-SS-PEG-Biotin combines the biocompatibility and controlled release properties of PLGA, the responsiveness of the disulfide bond to intracellular conditions, the stability and solubility provided by PEG, and the specific binding capability of biotin. The disulfide linkage in PLGA-SS-PEG-Biotin enables stimuli-responsive drug release. Reducing agents present intracellularly (e.g., glutathione) cleave the disulfide bond, triggering controlled release of encapsulated drugs or therapeutic agents at the desired site of action.
