Description

Sulfo-NHS-LC-Desthiobiotin is a water-soluble, amine-reactive reagent used in biochemical applications for the reversible labeling and purification of proteins and other biomolecules. This reagent is designed to introduce a desthiobiotin moiety to target molecules through a sulfo-NHS ester group and a long-chain (LC) spacer. The sulfo-NHS ester is a water-soluble reactive group that reacts specifically with primary amines in proteins and other biomolecules, forming stable amide bonds. This group allows for efficient labeling in aqueous solutions. Desthiobiotin, a biotin analog, binds to streptavidin or avidin with slightly lower affinity compared to biotin, enabling reversible binding and gentle elution.
