Description

Biotin-dC-puromycin is a specialized molecular probe combining biotin, deoxycytidine (dC), and puromycin. Deoxycytidine (dC) is a nucleotide analog incorporated into DNA or RNA sequences. Puromycin is an antibiotic that mimics aminoacyl-tRNA and is used to study protein synthesis. Puromycin is known to inhibit protein synthesis by causing premature chain termination during translation. Biotin-dC-puromycin can be used to study translation mechanisms and monitor protein synthesis. The biotin moiety allows for the detection and quantification of puromycin-labeled nascent peptides, providing insights into the dynamics of protein translation.
