Description

Biotin-Phosphatidylserine is a conjugate of biotin and phosphatidylserine (PS), a negatively charged phospholipid that is a major component of cell membranes, particularly in the inner leaflet. Phosphatidylserine exposure on the outer leaflet of the plasma membrane is a hallmark of early apoptosis. Biotin-phosphatidylserine can be used to label apoptotic cells, which can then be detected using streptavidin-conjugated probes in flow cytometry or microscopy.
