TPO Human, Biotin (Thyroid Peroxidase Human Recombinant, Biotinylated) is commonly used to study its catalytic activity in the iodination of thyroglobulin and the synthesis of thyroid hormones. Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) refers to membrane-bound enzyme located on the apical membrane of thyroid follicular cells. It catalyzes the iodination of tyrosine residues in thyroglobulin and the coupling of iodotyrosines to form thyroid hormones (T3 and T4). Its biotinylation enhances its utility in studying thyroid hormone synthesis, autoimmune thyroid diseases, and thyroid function.
