Description

pCMV-N-NES-Flag-APEX2 is a specialized plasmid vector used for the study of nuclear export signals (NES), protein localization, and protein interactions. This plasmid is designed to express a fusion protein that incorporates several elements for studying protein dynamics within cells. The pCMV vector is designed for high-level expression in mammalian cells. It contains the CMV (cytomegalovirus) promoter, which drives strong and constitutive expression of the inserted gene. APEX2 is an engineered peroxidase enzyme used for proximity labeling. It catalyzes the oxidation of biotin-phenol to generate reactive intermediates that covalently bond to nearby proteins, providing information about protein interactions and localization.
