Description

Methotrexyl-N’-biotinylethylenediamine is a conjugate that combines methotrexate (a well-known chemotherapeutic agent) with a biotinylated ethylenediamine group. The methotrexate moiety is a potent anti-folate drug used in cancer therapy. Methotrexate inhibits dihydrofolate reductase, an enzyme involved in DNA synthesis, thereby interfering with cell proliferation. The ethylenediamine linker providing flexibility and connectivity between methotrexate and the biotin group. The biotinylated compound can be used to deliver methotrexate specifically to biotinylated targets or cells that express streptavidin.
