The biotinyl group provides high-affinity binding to avidin or streptavidin, facilitating specific labeling, detection, and purification of biotinylated molecules. The iodoacetyl group is a reactive functional group that can form covalent bonds with nucleophilic groups, such as thiol (-SH) groups.
