Description

Fmoc-L-Gln(biotinyl-PEG)-OH (α-Fmoc-Nδ-(N-biotinyl-3-(2-(2-(3-aminopropyloxy)-ethoxy)-ethoxypropyl)-L-glutamine) integrates an Fmoc-protected glutamine residue with a biotinylated PEG spacer. Fmoc-L-Gln(biotinyl-PEG)-OH is used as a building block in peptide synthesis. The Fmoc group protects the amino group during the synthesis process, and it is removed to allow further peptide elongation. The biotinylated PEG group adds a biotin tag to the peptide. In addition, the biotinylated peptides or proteins can be used in the development of biosensors. The specific interaction between biotin and avidin or streptavidin can be used for detecting target molecules or changes in biological systems.
