PPLG-NCA (Poly(γ-propargyl l-glutamate)-N-carboxyanhydride) is a polymeric compound featuring a poly(γ-propargyl L-glutamate) backbone with an N-carboxyanhydride group. Poly(γ-propargyl L-glutamate) is a polypeptide derived from the amino acid L-glutamate with a propargyl group attached to the γ-position of the side chain. NCA is a cyclic anhydride of an α-amino acid. In the context of PPLG-NCA, the NCA group is used to facilitate polymerization. PPLG-NCA can be used to synthesize functionalized polymers with propargyl groups. The reactivity of these polymers allows for the creation of materials with specific properties.
