Description

3,6-di(p-chlorophenyl)-s-tetrazine is an aromatic heterocyclic compound with two para-chlorophenyl groups attached to a symmetric tetrazine ring. The extended conjugation provided by the phenyl rings and the electron-deficient tetrazine core makes this compound a candidate for use in organic semiconductors. It can be used in the fabrication of organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) or organic photovoltaics (OPVs). 3,6-di(p-chlorophenyl)-s-tetrazine can also act as a fluorescence quencher. When it reacts with a target molecule in an IEDDA reaction, the quenched fluorescence can be restored, making it useful in the design of “turn-on” fluorescent probes for detecting specific analytes.
