Description

6-mercapto-5-triazole[4,3-b]-S-tetrazine (MTT) features a tetrazine core with mercapto and triazole substituents. The 1,2,4,5-tetrazine ring is known for its high electron-deficiency and reactivity, particularly in inverse electron-demand Diels-Alder (IEDDA) reactions. The tetrazine ring is fully saturated in the s-tetrazine form. The mercapto group can participate in various chemical reactions, including disulfide bond formation and thiol-ene chemistry. The mercapto group in MTT can be used to develop sensors that detect specific analytes based on thiol interactions or changes in reactivity.
