Azidized polyacrylic acid (APAA) is a polymer derived from polyacrylic acid (PAA) with azide functional groups (-N3) introduced into its structure. Polyacrylic acid is a polymer composed of repeating units of acrylic acid (CH2=CH-COOH). It has a carboxylic acid group (-COOH) on each repeating unit, which contributes to its hydrophilicity and reactivity. APAA can be used to develop hydrogels with enhanced properties. The azide groups can be used to cross-link the polymer chains, improving the mechanical strength and stability of the hydrogel.
