Description

Azide-functionalization of carbon nanotubes involves attaching azide groups (-N3) to the surface of CNTs. CNTs are cylindrical nanostructures composed of rolled-up sheets of graphene. They come in various forms, including single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). CNTs have unique mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties. Azide-functionalized CNTs can be used to create nanocomposites with enhanced mechanical, electrical, or thermal properties. The azide groups enable the attachment of additional materials or polymers. They can also be used in drug delivery systems. The azide groups allow for the attachment of drugs, targeting agents, or imaging agents through click chemistry or other reactions.
